The policies and procedures in this central repository are the official versions of Acadia University’s university-wide policies and procedures. This includes both non-academic and academic (Senate) policies.
While Senate and academic policies are housed in this repository for ease of access, they are developed, approved, and reviewed through Senate processes and are not governed by the University’s Policy on Policies.
Sector-specific policies are included in this repository for ease of access.
Purpose of University Policies
University policies express Acadia’s official position on matters that have broad, institution-wide impact. They promote consistency, transparency, and accountability across the University.
Policies set expectations for conduct and decision-making. Their related procedures explain how those expectations are to be carried out.
Organization of Policies
All policies in the repository are searchable and listed alphabetically for easy navigation.
Policies may also be browsed by category to reflect key areas of University operations.
Policy Framework
The Framework for the development, approval, and maintenance of non-academic policies is guided by Acadia’s Policy on Policies. All policies and procedures follow the same general steps: Concept Approval; Drafting and Consultation; Implementation and Communication.
The University Secretariat administers the policy development process, maintains the official University Policy Repository, and oversees related records.
